Ten Things You May Not Know About Me....

Here are 10 random facts I’ve put together to help my readers learn a little more about me (besides the fact I am a crazed beauty addict)…
  1. I am deathly afraid of flying. I know this is a completely irrational fear, but something about being on a plane tens of thousands of feet in the air freaks me out.  Not that I let this stop me… I’m just not someone you want to sit next to on a flight!
  2. I played baseball on an all-boys baseball team when I was growing up.
  3. For the past twelve years- I’ve driven the same type of car… a VW Beetle.
  4. I have 4 degrees.  Two Bachelor’s Degrees, a Master’s Degree,  and my Law Degree.
  5. My favorite food is Mexican!
  6. I wear flip flops year round, in New England.  If there is more than a couple inches of snow on the ground, I will wear boots, but only for a day, then I am right back to flip flops.
  7. I was a ballerina for 14 years.
  8. I am a sorority girl… and proud of it! D-PHI-E Proud!!!
  9. Without caffeine in the AM I cannot function.
  10. I always find the positive in everything and everyone.
What is something random about you!?!?!

Urban Decay Finishing Spray Review

One of the most frustrating things is spending time putting makeup on, only to have it disappear in a few hours!  I've heard a lot about setting sprays but haven't tried one until now.  Enter... Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray.  I have been dying to try this spray, but I was reluctant to invest in something I didn't know much about.  (This product retails at $30 for 4oz.)  I was super excited when I was at Sephora the other day and noticed a travel size for $10.  I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to give this product a try without much commitment!

The bottle is a typical spray bottle.  It mists like a hair spray, or leave in conditioner.  The directions say to hold 8-10 inches away from face, and mist spray 2-4 times in an "X" and "T" formation.  I was worried it would make my face appear wet, and even change the tone of my makeup.  Surprisingly, it didn't.  You couldn't even tell anything had been applied.  It seemed to almost evaporate into the skin on contact.  The spray is a bit cool as it goes on, but refreshing.

But the real question is... did it keep my makeup in place for 16 hours as the product claims!?  After several days of using this product I noticed a big difference in the lasting power of my makeup.  I usually put makeup on around 8am on work days, and by 3pm, most has faded.  I noticed when using the spray, my makeup lasted throughout the entire work day.  I wouldn't go so far as to say it lasts the full 16 hours claimed.  10 hours is probably a little more accurate.

Overall, I really like this product.  I am eager to see how it holds up in the summer with heat and humidity.  Stay tuned....

Feeling Blue... with Essie

I don't know what it is, but lately I have been craving blue nails.  I assume it's my craving for summer and wanting to be ocean-side again.  Here are a few of my current favs by Essie.....

The first color shown is Essie Butler Please.  Described as an "indulgent bright blue", the pigments in this color are very vibrant, and would be great for spring or summer.  (I don't have a pic of my nails done in this one... we can call this rookie mistake #1...ha!).

The second color shown is Essie Hide & Go Chic.  This blue is part of the Spring 2014 line.  This blue has a hint of turquoise to it, but it is not overwhelming.  I wore this color to work (yes, even in court, where I try to keep my nail color on the modest side).  It wasn't too bright, but gave me just enough color to remind me summer is right around the corner.

The last color shown is by far my favorite! Essie Lots of Lux.  At first I thought it would be similar to their other sparkly nail colors, which I find look best over a solid coat.  However, this one was much thicker and came out almost like a liquid sand texture.  It still had hints of sparkle to it, and was a perfect weekend color!  Not to mention, the sand texture reminds me the summer is just around the corner!

Cheers to feeling blue!

Long Time Coming...

Finally! My blog is up!  I am so excited this is my very first post.  For those of you who know me, you know this has, indeed, been a long time coming.

During the day I am a lawyer.  Trust me- it's not as boring as it sounds! After work- I am a self-admitted, (though far from recovering) beauty addict.  I am really excited to share the things I love with my readers, and hope you will enjoy reading what I have to say.
